About the role
As a Software Engineer – Python & DevOps, you will make an impact by building, enhancing, and supporting scalable applications and automated solutions that improve reliability, performance, and delivery speed. You will be a valued member of a collaborative technology team and work closely with product owners, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
In this role, you will:
Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Python and modern front-end frameworks such as React and Next.js
Build and maintain automated test suites, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, automating build, test, and deployment workflows
Develop and support microservices and containerized applications, leveraging Kubernetes and modern DevOps practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to code reviews and following established engineering best practices
Work model:

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week onsite in a Cognizant or client office in Halifax, NS. What you need to have to be considered:
2–3 years of professional experience in software development and automation
Strong proficiency in Python
Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow
Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
Practical knowledge of containerized applications, Kubernetes, and DevOps tools
These will help you stand out:
Experience working in CI/CD-driven environments with automated testing and deployments
Exposure to cloud platforms and modern infrastructure practices
Experience working in Agile or DevOps teams
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
