Life Sciences Manufacturing IT – Technical Business Analyst

About the role

As a Business Analyst, you will make an impact by translating complex business needs into process designs, functional requirements, data requirements, and integration touchpoints that enable MES (PAS-X/Werum) and SAP (including EWM) design and sourcing readiness. You will be a valued member of the Life Sciences team and work collaboratively with manufacturing, IT, quality, and cross-functional stakeholders across a broad application ecosystem.

In this role, you will:

• Lead and facilitate functional deep-dive workshops to elicit, document, and organize MES and SAP/EWM requirements by process segment and unit operation, producing fit-gap analyses and requirements-driven timelines.

• Develop and maintain key pre-implementation artifacts including process designs, functional requirement catalogs, integration requirements, data requirements and sourcing matrices, and design confirmation packs.

• Support cross-functional alignment across the application ecosystem (MES, SAP/ERP, RTS, IT/OT pipeline, LIMS, QMS/QDMS, Historian, Asset Management) where interfaces impact MES and SAP outcomes.

• Translate requirements into vendor evaluation artifacts including scripted demos, traceability matrices, and BA inputs to SOW/SLA and environment requirements to support sourcing activities.

• Gather and document business constraints to inform hosting model decisions (On-Prem, Cloud, or SaaS), and capture hosting-related risks, assumptions, and decision criteria for IT and Enterprise Architecture.

What you need to have to be considered

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in pharmaceutical or life sciences manufacturing environments, with strong knowledge of MES platforms (preferably Werum PAS-X) and SAP/EWM.

• Demonstrated ability to plan and facilitate functional workshops, produce structured requirement artifacts (use case catalogs, fit-gap analyses, functional requirement sets), and manage decision and assumption logs.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing execution processes including shop floor operations, electronic batch records, process segments, unit operations, and cross-system integration points (MES, SAP, LIMS, QMS, Historian).

• Experience defining data requirements, integration requirements, and interface catalogs across complex multi-system application landscapes.

• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to work across manufacturing, IT, quality, and vendor teams.

These will help you stand out

• Hands-on experience with SAP EWM warehouse execution processes and MES/EWM integration scenarios (staging, batch/lot status, handling unit management).

• Familiarity with IT/OT pipeline considerations, DeltaV/automation systems, or OSI PI Historian in a pharma manufacturing context.

• Experience supporting MES or ERP vendor sourcing activities, including scripted demo development and requirements traceability matrices.

• Understanding of hosting model trade-offs (on-premises, cloud, SaaS) and ability to translate business operational needs into IT/EA decision inputs.

• Background in Separation of Duties (SOD) mapping and e-signature decision frameworks within regulated GxP environments.

We’re excited to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in a variety of ways. Don’t hesitate to apply, even if you only meet the minimum requirements listed.
