About the role
We are seeking a skilled Senior ETL Developer (SSIS, C#, SQL) to support our data‑integration and transformation initiatives in Pleasanton, CA. In this role, you will work across complex data environments to design and optimize ETL workflows, ensure data quality, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. You will also contribute to modernization efforts, including future Azure cloud adoption, while helping strengthen best practices within the team.

In this role, you will:

· Design, develop, optimize, and maintain SSIS packages for complex ETL and data‑integration workflows

  • Manage data extraction, transformation, and loading from multiple source systems into target databases or data stores
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, performance, and reliability across ETL processes
  • Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand‑ups, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and QA teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions
  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines for ETL deployments using Azure DevOps
  • Conduct code reviews, enforce ETL best practices, and provide guidance to junior team members
  • Troubleshoot production issues and deliver timely root‑cause analysis and fixes
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation for ETL design, workflows, and operational procedures
  • Support migration and modernization initiatives, including future Azure cloud integration

Work model:

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Pleasanton, CA. What you need to have to be considered

· Strong hands‑on experience with SSIS for ETL and data‑integration development

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Practical knowledge of Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid understanding of data quality, performance tuning, and troubleshooting within ETL processes

This will help you stand out

· Exposure to Azure cloud services (planned for future adoption)

  • Experience mentoring junior developers or contributing to best‑practice frameworks
  • Background supporting modernization or cloud‑migration initiatives

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $65,447 to $117,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
