About the role
As an Apigee Specialist, you will make an impact by designing and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance API solutions using Apigee and Apigee X to enable seamless system integration and enhance provider domain workflows. You will be a valued member of the Digital API / Integration team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, developers, architects, and cross-functional teams.
In this role, you will:
- Design and develop API solutions using Apigee and Apigee X, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with enterprise integration strategies
- Optimize API performance and monitor usage metrics to improve availability, throughput, and overall system performance
- Implement API security, governance, and compliance standards to protect data integrity and meet regulatory requirements
- Troubleshoot and provide production support for API-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and service disruption
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical API designs and deliverables
What you need to have to be considered
• Strong hands-on experience with Apigee and Apigee X API development
• Expertise in API architecture, integration design, and REST-based services
• Experience in API security, governance, and compliance best practices
• Proven ability to optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of APIs
• Experience with production support, troubleshooting, and API monitoring/analytics
These will help you stand out
• Experience conducting code reviews and enforcing coding standards and best practices
• Strong understanding of provider domain or regulated industry environments
• Experience creating API documentation including technical specifications and usage guides
• Familiarity with Agile delivery models and cross-functional collaboration
• Continuous learning mindset with awareness of latest Apigee platform enhancements
Work model: Must be based in Canada and willing to work out of a Cognizant Canadian office

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $83,500 – 95,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
