About the Role

As a Product Owner – Healthcare Consulting, you will make an impact by leading product ownership and requirements management across complex healthcare consulting engagements, partnering closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and clients to translate healthcare needs into clear, actionable solutions.

You will be a valued member of Cognizant Consulting’s Healthcare practice, working collaboratively with clients, delivery teams, and internal stakeholders to define member and provider journeys, shape requirements, and support successful program execution.


In This Role, You Will

  • Serve as the Product Owner on healthcare consulting engagements, owning requirements definition, backlog management, and prioritization across Agile delivery teams
  • Lead discovery and requirements workshops to translate complex healthcare business needs into clear, unambiguous user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria
  • Develop and document member, patient, or provider journeys, including functional flows, edge cases, and experience considerations
  • Partner with UX, engineering, and architecture teams to support UI and interface discussions, ensuring user-centric and compliant solutions
  • Manage Agile ceremonies and artifacts using tools such as JIRA and related Agile management platforms
  • Act as a bridge between business and technology teams, ensuring clarity, alignment, and traceability of requirements throughout delivery
  • Apply strong consulting problem‑solving skills to address ambiguity, manage dependencies, and support delivery and program management needs
  • Consistently demonstrate a consulting mindset, balancing structured execution with flexibility in fast‑paced client environments

Work Model

We strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a remote position open to qualified applicants in the United States.
This role may require occasional travel to client sites or Cognizant offices, depending on project needs.

What You Must Have to Be Considered

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, supporting Agile delivery teams in a consulting or professional services environment
  • Hands‑on experience using Agile methodologies and JIRA to manage backlogs, user stories, and delivery workflows
  • Healthcare industry experience is required, with deep expertise in at least one payer or provider functional domain
  • Strong ability to write clear, precise, and testable requirements, including user stories, journeys, and functional documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with client stakeholders and delivery teams
  • Understanding of consulting expectations related to problem solving, requirements management, and program delivery

These Will Help You Succeed

  • Prior experience in a client‑facing consulting role within healthcare
  • Familiarity with healthcare operations, regulatory considerations, and industry standards
  • Experience collaborating with UX and design teams on member or patient experience initiatives
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments while maintaining structure and discipline

Compensation

The annual base salary for this position is $81,450 - $129,500, depending on experience and other qualifications.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
