Network Infrastructure Specialist
Location: Hartford, CT (Hybrid role)

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Network Infrastructure Specialist to support enterprise network infrastructure. The role involves monitoring, incident management, onsite support, and coordination with internal teams and vendors to ensure network stability and performance.
Required Skills: Networking – Switching & Routing, Firewall Security, Infoblox, F5
Key Responsibilities
Network Monitoring & Alerts
Monitor network devices and links using tools such as Smarts.
Detect and respond to outages, link flaps, and performance issues proactively.
Incident Management
Handle Sev1 and Sev2 incidents, including initial analysis and log collection.
Participate in bridge calls and provide real-time updates.
Escalate complex issues to the Engineering team.
Ticket Management
Manage incidents and service requests in ServiceNow.
Track tickets from creation to closure, ensuring SLA compliance.
Change & Implementation
Perform planned changes such as:
Port activations
VLAN configurations
Follow change management processes and documentation.
DNS & Infoblox Support
Execute DNS changes including CNAME updates using Infoblox.
Ensure compliance with approved change requests.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with engineering teams, internal stakeholders, and vendors.
Ensure timely resolution of incidents through effective communication.
AV & End-User Support
Support AV, Security, and Meeting Room teams.
Assist users with connectivity issues, cabling, and port configurations.
Onsite & Infrastructure Support
Perform:
Switch replacements
Port tracing and patching
PAC modem configuration
Provide hands-on troubleshooting at user desks.
Hardware & Facilities Support
Support UPS systems including battery replacements and troubleshooting.
Perform physical inspection and reboots when remote access is not available.
Field & Vendor Support
Assist field engineers and third-party vendors during onsite visits.
Provide immediate support for urgent and walk-in issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, VLANs, TCP/IP)
Experience with network monitoring tools (Smarts preferred)
Hands-on experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing tools
Knowledge of DNS & Infoblox
Ability to troubleshoot Layer1/Layer2 networking issues
Strong communication and coordination skills
Willingness to provide onsite and desk-side support

The annual salary for this position is between $79,240– $130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
