About the role
As a Lead .NET Full Stack Developer, you will make an impact by leading the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing enterprise applications across a modern cloud-based technology stack. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to drive innovation, reliability, and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of web applications using ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, and C#, ensuring high-quality and maintainable enterprise solutions
- Design and oversee scalable and secure backend services (Web APIs) supporting high-volume, customer-facing applications
- Drive team execution in a hybrid model, aligning sprint goals, code quality standards, and release timelines across distributed teams
- Architect and implement AWS-based cloud solutions to enable resilient deployments, scalability, and cost efficiency
- Promote engineering excellence through coding standards, reusable design patterns, automated testing, and continuous improvement practices
Work model
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days a week in a Cognizant or client office in Newark, New Jersey.

What you need to have to be considered
- 8+ years of experience in software development with strong hands-on expertise in ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, and C#
- Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core Web API, including performance optimization and error handling
- Strong experience with AWS services (compute, storage, networking) for designing scalable and resilient cloud solutions
- Solid experience in relational database design and optimization (MySQL / PL/SQL), including query tuning and indexing
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in hybrid or global delivery models with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
These will help you stand out
- Experience integrating React.js front-end applications with backend APIs
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices, authentication, and authorization frameworks
- Experience with modernization or cloud migration initiatives, particularly legacy to cloud-native solutions
- Exposure to automated testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and code quality tools
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and drive a culture of continuous improvement
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $85,000 - $117,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
