As a Software Engineer, you will make an impact by developing, testing, and enhancing innovative software solutions that support business and technology objectives. You will be a valued member of the engineering team, collaborating with developers, architects, product owners, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality applications and modern technology solutions

In this role, you will:
Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using modern engineering practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
Contribute to the adoption of AI-enabled development practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues while ensuring application performance and quality.
Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and deployment processes to support successful software delivery.

What you need to have to be considered
2+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar software development role.
Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and interest in AI-driven development practices.
Hands-on experience with one or more programming languages, preferably Java and/or Python.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing competing priorities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
These will help you stand out
Experience with Oracle SQL or other relational database technologies.
Familiarity with software testing frameworks, quality assurance practices, and automated testing methodologies.
Knowledge of web application development, including front-end technologies such as React.
Experience designing and implementing scalable applications, distributed systems, or microservices architectures.
Exposure to containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools supporting modern software delivery.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

The annual salary for this position is between $68,000 - $110,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
