As a Lead Full Stack Engineer – Healthcare Payer Platforms, you will make an impact by designing, building, and delivering secure, scalable digital solutions that enhance healthcare payer experiences for members and providers. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with product owners, business analysts, architects, quality engineers, DevOps teams, and other technology stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and develop modern full stack applications using Angular, React, Node.js, and AWS technologies.
  • Lead the development of secure and scalable APIs, microservices, and user-facing applications supporting healthcare payer platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions that drive value for members and providers.
  • Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote engineering best practices, secure coding standards, and high-quality software delivery.
  • Drive application performance, reliability, and continuous improvement through automation, monitoring, and modern development practices.

What you need to have to be considered

  • Proven experience developing enterprise applications using Angular, React, and Node.js.
  • Strong experience building and consuming REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-native solutions, preferably on AWS.
  • Hands-on experience in the Healthcare Payer domain, including claims, eligibility, enrollment, billing, provider, or member-facing applications.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including design patterns, data structures, testing practices, and application architecture.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across distributed and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience implementing secure coding practices and working with regulated or sensitive data environments.

These will help you stand out

  • Experience with healthcare payer processes such as claims adjudication, benefits management, care management, or member engagement platforms.
  • Knowledge of application monitoring, logging, observability, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Experience mentoring engineering teams and leading technical initiatives across multiple projects.
  • Exposure to reusable component libraries, frontend architecture, and accessibility standards.
  • Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments supporting digital transformation initiatives.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $81,000 – $157,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
