About the Role
This is a pivotal leadership opportunity at the intersection of data engineering, quality assurance, and enterprise-scale transformation. As a Test Manager, you will own the end-to-end testing strategy for ETL processes and Data Warehouse migration projects — most notably migrations from legacy on-premises environments to modern cloud platforms such as Snowflake. Operating within the banking domain, you will be the driving force ensuring data integrity, performance, and regulatory compliance throughout every phase of migration. This is not a back-office quality role — it is a strategic position where your decisions directly shape the reliability of mission-critical financial data.
What You'll Do
You will define and lead the overall test strategy, scope, and objectives across multiple concurrent migration projects, keeping everything aligned with Agile sprint cycles and release readiness gates. You set the quality bar — establishing KPIs, defect benchmarks, and test coverage targets — and then you hold the line on them.
On a day-to-day basis, you serve as the connective tissue between QA engineers, developers, product owners, and business stakeholders across finance, compliance, and IT. You translate regulatory and business requirements into actionable test plans, then track progress with metrics that tell a real story: defect trends, test coverage gaps, and release readiness signals.
You will lead ETL testing across banking data domains — customer data, transactions, and risk analytics — applying the right validation technique for each pipeline and data tier. You champion shift-left practices and continuous testing, proactively identifying automation opportunities that reduce regression cycles and integration testing overhead. Alongside this, you will manage synthetic test data generation and oversee test data environments in Snowflake, including UAT, to ensure secure and scalable testing conditions.
Managing the human side of quality is equally important. You allocate resources, manage timelines, conduct risk assessments, and implement mitigation strategies when challenges arise. You facilitate planning sessions and stakeholder reporting, and you invest time in mentoring junior testers — building a team culture grounded in accountability, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to quality.
What We're Looking For
You bring deep, hands-on experience in ETL testing — ideally with IDMC (Informatica) — and you have navigated all phases of the project lifecycle: System Testing, UAT, Integration Testing, parallel runs, cutover, and BI reports testing. You know how to adapt your testing approach as a project evolves, and you understand what "done" truly looks like in a regulated banking environment.
You have led or been a central contributor to at least one end-to-end Data Warehouse migration project, preferably a Teradata-to-Snowflake migration, and you are familiar with the architectural nuances that make Snowflake different — including its separation of storage and compute. You are comfortable navigating audit readiness requirements and data governance policies, and you understand the compliance landscape well enough to keep testing aligned with banking regulations.
Beyond the technical, you are a natural communicator and collaborator. You thrive in cross-functional environments, you manage change with clarity, and you know how to bring stakeholders along on the journey — from initial planning through to post-migration validation.
Technical Skills
ETL & Data Tools: Informatica PowerCenter, IDMC, Snowflake (Time Travel, Cloning, Micro-partitions, Streams & Tasks)
Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure (primary), with working knowledge of AWS and GCP; Snowflake integration experience across all three
Data Warehousing: End-to-end DWH migration experience; strong understanding of on-premises to cloud migration patterns (Teradata to Snowflake preferred)
SQL: Advanced proficiency — this is non-negotiable
Scripting: Python, Shell, or PowerShell for automation of repeatable tasks and ETL validation workflows
Testing Scope: Full lifecycle — System, UAT, Integration, parallel run & cutover, and BI/reporting layer testing
Infrastructure: Experience with hybrid environments spanning on-premises, cloud, and big data platforms
We're excited to meet people who share our passion for quality and can make a real impact in a high-stakes data environment. If you meet most but not all, of the requirements above, don't hesitate to apply. Your unique perspective and transferable experience may be exactly what we're looking for.
