Job summary
Resident engineer to support on all Cisco related issues in R and S SDWAN SDA ACI Wireless and Security.. The role focuses on interpreting spatial data modeling coverage patterns and informing network deployment strategies that enhance connectivity support business goals and create reliable digital infrastructure for communities.
Responsibilities
- Analyze geospatial datasets to identify patterns and trends that inform planning and optimization of wireless network deployments across diverse environments.
- Develop detailed geospatial models to predict wireless signal coverage quality and capacity for Cisco wireless and related network solutions.
- Interpret spatial insights to guide design decisions that improve network resilience performance and user experience in target regions.
- Collaborate with network engineering teams to translate geospatial findings into practical configurations for Cisco wireless and related technologies.
- Create clear geospatial visualizations and maps that help stakeholders understand coverage gaps demand hotspots and investment priorities.
- Document geospatial methodologies and workflows to ensure repeatable analysis and consistent quality across projects.
- Validate geospatial models against field performance data to refine assumptions and improve prediction accuracy for future engagements.
- Coordinate with hybrid onsite and remote team members to maintain alignment on project goals progress and delivery timelines.
- Prepare concise reports that summarize geospatial analysis outcomes and recommend targeted actions to improve network effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data governance and privacy policies when sourcing and processing geospatial information.
- Support continuous improvement by evaluating new geospatial tools and techniques that can enhance wireless network planning efficiency.
- Contribute to organizational knowledge repositories by sharing lessons learned from geospatial projects that impact wireless deployments.
- Align daily work with company objectives by focusing geospatial efforts on connectivity solutions that positively impact communities and customers.
Qualifications
- Apply advanced geospatial analysis experience in the range of six to nine years to complex wireless network planning and optimization scenarios.
- Demonstrate strong practical knowledge of Cisco wireless technologies to interpret spatial data in the context of real world coverage and capacity requirements.
- Use hands on experience with Cisco ACI environments to map and analyze data center or campus network topologies from a geospatial perspective.
- Apply working knowledge of Cisco Catalyst SDWAN Viptela to assess and visualize edge connectivity patterns across distributed locations.
- Employ familiarity with wireless networking fundamentals to evaluate line of sight conditions interference factors and environmental constraints in spatial models.
- Utilize proficiency in geospatial tools and scripting to automate recurring spatial workflows and improve analysis throughput for project teams.
- Communicate complex spatial insights in clear language that can be understood by technical and business stakeholders without jargon.
- Adapt effectively to a hybrid work model by managing time deliverables and collaboration tools to maintain high productivity.
- Show commitment to continuous learning by staying current with emerging geospatial practices and Cisco networking innovations.
