As a Billing Specialist, you will provide billing support to Project Managers by preparing invoices and ensuring alignment with customer guidelines and project billing schedules. You will be a key member of the finance or project support team, collaborating closely with Project Managers and stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely billing operations. You will have the opportunity to troubleshoot issues, improve billing workflows, and contribute to operational efficiency while maintaining a strong commitment to quality.
- Prepare and issue invoices in accordance with customer guidelines and project timelines.
- Support Project Managers with billing activities and ensure compliance with billing frequency requirements.
- Respond to billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner.
- Troubleshoot billing issues and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail across all billing-related activities.

- Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong sense of ownership, desire to create meaningful outcomes, and passion for work that serves a greater good.

- Prior experience supporting project-based billing processes
- Ability to work effectively under deadlines, especially during peak billing cycles

Willing to work overtime as needed, specifically from the 1st through the 4th of each month regardless of if those dates fall on a weekday, weekend, or holiday.
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $60,000 - $70,000, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
