Job summary
The GeoSpatial Engineer MAP will design implement and optimize geospatial data solutions that support mapping products and analytics for an international organization. The role involves building Python based geospatial pipelines integrating spatial datasets and enabling accurate visual insights for business users while working in a hybrid day shift model.
Responsibilities
Develop high quality Python based geospatial workflows that process transform and validate spatial datasets for enterprise mapping solutionsDesign robust geospatial data models that improve spatial analysis accuracy and enable consistent mapping outputs across business unitsImplement automated data ingestion routines that collect spatial data from multiple internal and external sources and standardize them for downstream useOptimize spatial query performance in geospatial databases so that analytical dashboards and maps respond efficiently for global usersBuild reusable Python modules that encapsulate core geospatial functions to reduce duplication and improve maintainability of mapping servicesCollaborate with product and domain teams to translate location based business needs into clear geospatial engineering tasks and technical solutionsCreate detailed geoprocessing workflows that support routing analysis site selection and territory planning for various business scenariosIntegrate geospatial services with enterprise applications so that maps and spatial analytics can be embedded into existing digital productsImplement rigorous data quality checks that detect spatial inconsistencies missing attributes and topology errors to maintain trust in mapping outputsDevelop monitoring scripts that track performance of geospatial services and automate alerts when processing time or data freshness thresholds are breachedDocument geospatial architectures workflows and coding standards thoroughly so that teams can easily understand maintain and extend existing solutionsCollaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure that geospatial data handling aligns with regulatory expectations and company policiesContribute to innovation initiatives by evaluating emerging geospatial tools and Python libraries that can enhance map accuracy and analytical capabilities
Qualifications
Demonstrate strong proficiency in Python including experience with core libraries that support data processing automation and integration activitiesExhibit hands on experience with geospatial concepts such as projections coordinate reference systems spatial joins and topology rules applied in real projectsApply practical knowledge of geospatial tools or frameworks such as GIS platforms or spatial databases to design scalable location based solutionsBring experience in handling medium to large spatial datasets and optimizing data pipelines so that geospatial processing remains reliable under production loadsUse sound understanding of software engineering practices such as version control testing and code review to maintain high quality geospatial codebasesCommunicate clearly with multidisciplinary stakeholders to explain geospatial findings map outputs and technical constraints in accessible languageLeverage experience in working within hybrid teams and day shift schedules to collaborate effectively across onsite and remote colleagues in an international environment
