SPE - Investor Accounting & Reporting
Job Summary
This role focuses on performing servicing activities for mortgage loan investor accounting and reporting while working from the office in a night shift schedule with no travel expectations. The specialist uses strong expertise in spreadsheet analysis and data validation to support accurate servicing operations and timely reporting. The work directly supports organizational integrity investor confidence and compliant mortgage servicing outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily servicing activities for mortgage loan portfolios to ensure accurate recording of transactions and adherence to investor accounting requirements
- Execute detailed data validation using advanced spreadsheet functions to maintain high quality servicing records and minimize operational errors
- Prepare investor reporting schedules for mortgage loans by consolidating servicing data and verifying completeness and consistency with internal policies
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders in operations and finance teams to resolve data discrepancies and ensure timely submission of investor reports
- Monitor foreclosure related servicing activities by tracking status updates and ensuring that all required documentation is accurately captured in servicing systems
- Support claim file processing for mortgage loans by organizing documentation and validating claim data against servicing system records
- Review servicing exceptions and past due items by analyzing trend patterns in spreadsheets and proposing corrective actions to relevant teams
- Document process steps and control checks for servicing tasks to support internal audit readiness and continuous process improvement initiatives
- Utilize spreadsheet analytics to build and maintain templates that streamline recurring reporting and servicing activities for mortgage loans
- Apply knowledge of foreclosure and claim servicing to identify potential risks and escalate unusual patterns to supervisors for further review
- Collaborate with quality review teams to address findings related to investor accounting and implement corrective measures in daily servicing routines
- Maintain strict adherence to night shift schedules and work from office requirements to support business continuity and time critical servicing deliverables
- Contribute to a culture of risk awareness and service excellence by sharing process insights that improve customer outcomes and support the broader purpose of responsible mortgage servicing
Qualifications
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in spreadsheet tools including formulas pivot tables lookup functions and data cleanup techniques applied in an operational servicing context
- Possess hands on experience of two to four years in operations or servicing roles where accuracy attention to detail and adherence to procedures were critical success factors
- Bring exposure to investor accounting and reporting for mortgage loans with the ability to translate complex investor guidelines into practical servicing activities when required
- Show familiarity with foreclosure processes and claim file handling for mortgage loans including basic understanding of documentation flows timelines and controls
- Exhibit capability to work consistently in night shift schedules from an office environment while maintaining focus and productivity across repetitive servicing tasks
- Display effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and present data findings or exception trends in a clear structured and actionable manner
- Demonstrate learning agility by adapting to changing investor requirements system enhancements and revised operating procedures in mortgage servicing
Certifications Required
Preferred certification in advanced spreadsheet tools or data analysis such as Microsoft Office Specialist Excel or equivalent
