We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer (Systematics) with strong expertise in core banking and financial services applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in IBM Mainframe technologies and proven experience working with Systematics-based banking applications. This role involves developing, enhancing, and supporting business-critical applications in a high-volume transaction processing environment.
In this role, you will:
· Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications supporting banking operations and financial transaction processing.
· Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
· Develop and support online and batch applications using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and related mainframe technologies.
· Perform impact analysis, code reviews, debugging, testing, and production support activities.
· Troubleshoot and resolve batch failures, production incidents, and performance issues.

What you need to have to be considered
· 5-10+ years of experience in IBM Mainframe application development and support, with strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and batch processing environments.
· Hands-on experience with Systematics-based banking applications, including development, enhancements, production support, and troubleshooting of core banking functions.
· Proficiency with mainframe development and support tools, including Endevor/Changeman (or similar version control tools), XPEDITER, Abend-AID, File-AID, Easytrieve, QMF, or equivalent utilities.
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with experience resolving production incidents and supporting business-critical applications.
· Experience working in Agile and Waterfall environments; exposure to CICS, IMS, DB2, and financial services/banking applications is highly preferred.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $ 60000 to $ 93500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
