About the role
As a Software Test Analyst (API Testing), you will make an impact by ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of complex applications through comprehensive manual and API testing. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
In this role, you will:
• Design and execute detailed manual test scenarios and test cases covering functional and non-functional requirements.
• Develop and execute API test suites to validate service integrations, data integrity, and error handling.
• Analyze business and technical requirements to identify test conditions, edge cases, and testing priorities.
• Perform regression testing and support release validation activities across multiple application releases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve defects, improve test coverage, and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.

What you need to have to be considered
• Experience in manual software testing, including test case design, execution, defect management, and regression testing.
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools and methodologies for validating service integrations and data flows.
• Ability to analyze business requirements and technical specifications to create effective test strategies and scenarios.
• Experience documenting and tracking defects with detailed reproduction steps and impact analysis.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across business and technology teams.
These will help you stand out
• Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) initiatives.
• Knowledge of testing best practices, quality standards, and risk-based testing methodologies.
• Experience working within Agile software development environments.
• Exposure to research and development, sales and marketing, or other business domains.
• Experience contributing to test process improvements, metrics reporting, and quality governance initiatives.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $44,834 – $76,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
