Job Summary
Serve as a senior functional analyst in the ISG organization focusing on education domain solutions powered by microservices and Java. Collaborate with cross functional teams in a hybrid work model to analyze requirements design scalable applications and optimize digital learning workflows. Apply deep education process knowledge to translate business needs into reliable technology outcomes that enhance learner and educator experiences across global markets.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with education stakeholders to gather detailed functional requirements and translate them into clear specifications for microservices based Java applications that support institutional and learner workflows.
- Analyze existing education processes and information flows to identify gaps and propose improvements that can be implemented through modular microservices and robust Java components.
- Design functional models and service interaction scenarios that ensure education platforms are intuitive accessible and aligned with regulatory and accreditation standards in target regions.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to validate that implemented microservices and Java services meet functional acceptance criteria and deliver consistent performance for education users.
- Document end to end functional use cases and test scenarios that cover admissions enrollment assessments grading certification and reporting processes within education solutions.
- Support configuration and parameterization of education systems so that institutions can adjust programs courses grading schemes and schedules without impacting underlying microservices stability.
- Work closely with quality assurance teams to define functional test strategies for microservices interfaces Java workflows and data validation to maintain high reliability for academic records and learning content.
- Provide analytical insights using usage data and user feedback to suggest enhancements that improve learner engagement educator efficiency and administrative transparency in education platforms.
- Ensure functional designs support secure handling of learner data compliance with privacy regulations and accurate reporting of progress achievements and institutional metrics.
- Assist product management in prioritizing education features by evaluating functional impact technical complexity and alignment with company objectives for social impact in learning.
- Coordinate hybrid work practices across onsite and remote team members to maintain clear communication on functional changes release plans and issue resolution for education solutions.
- Guide junior analysts by sharing domain knowledge in education processes and best practices in microservices oriented analysis without taking on formal leadership responsibilities.
- Support smooth day shift operations by being available for functional clarifications production issue triage and collaboration with global stakeholders through effective written and spoken English.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Java application development concepts and microservices architectures including service boundaries stateless design and integration patterns applied in complex business environments.
- Apply deep knowledge of education domain processes such as curriculum management student lifecycle assessment workflows compliance reporting and institutional administration when defining solution behavior.
- Exhibit solid experience working as a functional analyst or business systems analyst for at least four years translating education business requirements into actionable technical specifications for development teams.
- Use clear and concise English reading and writing skills to produce requirement documents user stories process maps and release notes that are easily understood by multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Show familiarity with hybrid work models including effective remote collaboration practices versioned documentation and virtual workshops with education clients and internal teams.
- Demonstrate understanding of day shift collaboration across time zones including timely responses in shared channels and structured handoffs for ongoing functional analysis activities.
- Apply practical experience with testing approaches such as functional testing integration testing and user acceptance testing to validate microservices based education applications.
- Display awareness of secure data handling practices and privacy regulations in the education context including consent management controlled access and accurate audit trails for learner information.
- Exhibit strong analytical thinking and problem solving capability to resolve functional defects clarify ambiguous requirements and refine backlog items that impact education outcomes.
Certifications Required
Preferred certifications include Java certification and microservices or cloud architecture certification such as Java SE or Spring focused credentials.
