About the role

As an Appian Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and implementing scalable business process management solutions that streamline operations and support digital transformation initiatives. You will be a valued member of the delivery team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, architects, product owners, and development teams to deliver high-quality Appian-based solutions.

In this role, you will:

· Design, develop, and implement enterprise-scale solutions using the Appian platform and BPM best practices.

· Develop applications using Appian SAIL, Process Modeler, Business Rules, Expressions, Documents, Knowledge Center, and Data Management capabilities.

· Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct workshops, and support solution demonstrations.

· Design and implement integrations with internal and external systems using REST APIs and related integration technologies.

· Support CI/CD implementation and deployment automation initiatives to improve delivery efficiency and application quality.

· Develop and optimize data models, complex data types (XSDs), SQL queries, and database interactions.

· Partner with offshore development teams to ensure successful delivery and adherence to development standards.

· Participate in solution design discussions, estimation activities, testing support, and production issue resolution.

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring work from a client or Cognizant office in Louisville, Kentucky or Dallas, Texas. What you need to have to be considered

· 8+ years of overall IT experience with at least 4+ years of hands-on Appian development and implementation experience.

· Strong knowledge of Appian platform capabilities and implementation methodologies.

· Extensive experience with Appian SAIL, Process Modeler, Business Rules, Expressions, Documents, Knowledge Center, and Data Management.

· Experience working with complex data types (XSDs), SQL queries, and relational databases.

· Proven expertise designing and implementing integrations using REST APIs and web services.

· Experience supporting or coordinating offshore development teams.

· Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and deployment automation.

· Experience working directly with business stakeholders to facilitate requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and solution demonstrations.

· Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

These will help you stand out

· Appian certification such as Appian Certified Developer, Senior Developer, or Lead Developer.

· Experience delivering enterprise BPM and workflow automation initiatives.

· Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies and DevOps practices.

· Experience integrating Appian with cloud platforms and enterprise applications.

· Understanding of application performance tuning, security best practices, and governance frameworks.

· Exposure to solution architecture and modernization initiatives.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until September 04, 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $129,500- $152,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
