About the role

As an IT Program Manager – Client Engagement & Service Delivery, you will make an impact by leading strategic client engagements and driving the successful delivery of IT and business process services across global teams. You will be a valued member of our Delivery & Transformation team and work closely with client executives, business stakeholders, and offshore delivery teams to ensure operational excellence, service quality, and measurable business outcomes.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, building trusted relationships and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead large-scale IT and business process services programs, ensuring successful delivery against scope, schedule, budget, quality, and SLA commitments.
  • Drive governance activities, including executive reviews, steering committee meetings, operational reviews, and program status reporting.
  • Partner with global delivery teams to ensure service excellence, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage program risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations while ensuring timely resolution.
  • Oversee financial performance, including forecasting, resource utilization, revenue, and margin management.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and service expansion that create business value for clients.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and delivery excellence.

What you need to have to be considered

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of experience in IT services, business process services, or technology consulting environments.
  • 5+ years of program management experience leading complex global delivery engagements.
  • Experience managing offshore delivery teams, including teams based in India.
  • Proven success managing executive client relationships and stakeholder communications.
  • Strong experience with program governance, service delivery management, financial oversight, and operational performance management.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and leadership skills.

These will help you stand out

  • Experience leading large-scale transformation, modernization, or managed services programs.
  • Knowledge of service management frameworks and operational excellence methodologies.
  • Experience driving automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong background in resource planning, forecasting, and financial management.
  • Experience managing multi-vendor environments and complex delivery ecosystems.
  • PMP, Agile, SAFe, ITIL, or related certifications.

The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $142,000 - $162,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
