About the role

We are looking for a Senior Guidewire Test Engineer to join our QEA team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Guidewire testing and a strong Property and Casualty Insurance background. The position involves designing and executing complex functional and integration testing for auto policy administration, online submission workflows, renewals and new business, while ensuring high product quality that supports property and casualty insurance operations.

In this role, you will

  • Drive comprehensive test planning and execution for Guidewire PolicyCenter ClaimCenter and BillingCenter implementations supporting auto policy administration online submission renewals and new business across property and casualty insurance products
  • Design detailed functional and integration test scenarios that validate complex rating underwriting and policy lifecycle rules within Guidewire applications to ensure reliable processing of auto and property coverage transactions
  • Develop reusable test case suites and test data sets that accurately mirror end to end journeys for online submission auto new business policy changes and renewals to strengthen regression coverage and reduce production defects
  • Coordinate system integration testing across Guidewire core systems and surrounding applications such as document generation payment processing and external data providers to confirm seamless data flow and process orchestration
  • Analyze root causes of recurring defects and collaborate closely with configuration and development teams to refine Guidewire workflows business rules and integrations for improved platform stability and customer experience
  • Apply deep domain knowledge in auto policy administration online submissions renewals and new business processes to validate that product behavior aligns with regulatory requirements underwriting guidelines and operational procedures

What you need to have to be considered

  • Overall 6-10 years of QA experience in P&C insurance with at least 3 years in Guidewire PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter including configuration validation workflow testing and integration verification within enterprise insurance environments.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of auto policy administration lifecycles covering online submissions new business policy servicing renewals and cancellations for property and casualty insurance lines.
  • Well versed in Rating/Premium Validations.
  • Show capability to interpret business requirements and rating rules from insurance product documents and translate them into clear test conditions scenarios and expected results that reduce ambiguity and defects.
  • Exhibit proven ability to design execute and optimize end to end test suites including functional integration regression and user acceptance testing tailored to complex insurance product configurations.
  • Display proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools and familiarity with structured test design techniques that support traceability coverage analysis and quality reporting for senior stakeholders.
  • Prefer exposure to enterprise property and casualty transformation programs using the Guidewire product suite where the specialist contributed measurable improvements in release quality customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

These will help you stand out

  • Hands-on experience in API testing would be an added advantage.
  • Preferred to have Guidewire certification completed.

Total compensation

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 70,000 – 90,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
