Job Summary
This trainee role focuses on developing and enhancing applications using C sharp in a remote work from home environment supporting day shift operations for an international organization. The trainee will learn to apply foundational software engineering practices while gaining exposure to insurance and finance domains contributing to reliable solutions that improve business efficiency and customer outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain clean and efficient C sharp code under guidance contributing to stable application features that support business processes and client needs in a remote work from home model.
- Assist in analyzing functional requirements and translating them into basic C sharp components ensuring that solutions are aligned with specified business rules and operational objectives.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and analysts to troubleshoot defects in C sharp applications helping to resolve issues that could impact daily operations and customer facing services.
- Support unit testing and basic integration testing activities for C sharp modules documenting outcomes to improve code quality and reduce future maintenance effort.
- Participate in code reviews as a learner absorbing best practices in C sharp syntax error handling and performance optimization to enhance long term technical capability.
- Contribute to technical documentation for developed C sharp features capturing logic and workflows that support knowledge sharing and smooth handover across distributed teams.
- Engage in continuous learning of core concepts related to property and casualty insurance and life and annuities insurance applying this understanding to design more relevant and accurate application behavior when opportunities arise.
- Explore foundational principles of finance and accounting processes helping to validate that application calculations and reporting outputs are consistent with business expectations.
- Coordinate effectively with team members during day shift hours using online collaboration tools to ensure timely communication and progress tracking in a fully remote environment.
- Follow established development standards and compliance guidelines supporting secure and reliable software delivery that aligns with organizational policies and ethical expectations.
- Participate in estimation and planning discussions as a trainee providing accurate status updates and identifying blockers early to enable predictable delivery outcomes.
- Contribute ideas for incremental improvements in workflows or code organization helping the team reduce manual effort and enhance efficiency over time.
- Demonstrate accountability for assigned tasks ensuring that work is completed with attention to detail and that outcomes positively influence customer experience and organizational reputation.
Qualifications
- Possess foundational knowledge of C sharp programming including object oriented concepts data structures and debugging techniques with some academic or project experience applying these skills to real scenarios.
- Bring awareness or introductory exposure to property and casualty insurance domains with interest in understanding policy lifecycle claims handling and associated data flows.
- Show curiosity or basic familiarity with life and annuities insurance concepts including policy structures premium calculations and benefit processing gained through coursework or self learning.
- Demonstrate initial understanding of finance and accounting principles such as reconciliations reporting and transaction recording enabling more accurate support for related application features.
- Exhibit strong analytical and problem solving abilities with the capacity to break down requirements and propose clear logical steps in C sharp implementations.
- Maintain effective written and verbal communication skills suited to remote collaboration including clear status sharing and respectful engagement with diverse team members.
Certifications Required
Preferred certification in C sharp or Microsoft technology such as Microsoft Certified Azure Developer Associate or equivalent entry level C sharp credential.
