Cloud Application Architect (.NET / Azure / Kubernetes)
About the role
As a Cloud Application Architect, you will make an impact by designing and optimizing scalable, resilient, and cloud-native enterprise applications that drive business performance and operational excellence. You will be a valued member of the architecture and engineering team and work collaboratively with product owners, developers, platform engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative technology solutions.

In this role, you will:
- Architect and design enterprise application solutions using.NET Core, Azure, and Kubernetes, ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and alignment with business objectives.
- Lead the development of cloud-native and microservices-based architectures that improve system performance, availability, and operational efficiency.
- Define observability and monitoring strategies leveraging AppDynamics, Dynatrace, and Azure-native tools to proactively identify and resolve performance issues.
- Establish architecture standards, reusable design patterns, and best practices that drive consistency and long-term maintainability across engineering teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and provide architectural guidance throughout the software development lifecycle.

What you need to have to be considered
- 16+ years of experience in enterprise application architecture, with a strong focus on distributed systems and cloud-native technologies.
- Extensive hands-on experience with.NET Core, including application design, performance optimization, and enterprise-scale application development.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, including compute, networking, storage, security, and cloud architecture best practices.
- Proven experience with Kubernetes and containerized application platforms, including orchestration, scalability, and deployment automation.
- Advanced knowledge of AppDynamics and Dynatrace for application performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and observability.
- Experience defining enterprise architecture standards, security controls, resiliency strategies, and disaster recovery approaches.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across distributed teams.
These will help you stand out
- Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Event-Driven Architecture patterns.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure automation.
- Experience leading architecture reviews, technical assessments, and engineering governance initiatives.
- Familiarity with cloud security, compliance, and operational excellence frameworks.
- Experience mentoring engineering teams and driving adoption of modern architecture practices.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $ 92,000 to $ 155,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
