IoT Engineer
Job Description:
We are looking for an innovative and highly skilled IoT Engineer with a specific focus on creating ISO images for our dialysis machines. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and customizing Lubuntu-based ISO images to run on dialysis machine hardware. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, embedded systems, and a deep knowledge of system imaging and customization.
This role is critical to ensure that dialysis machines operate efficiently, securely, and meet regulatory standards. You will work closely with hardware and software engineers to integrate IoT capabilities, optimize the operating environment, and create reliable and compliant ISO images for deployment across devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- ISO Creation & Customization:
- Develop and customize Lubuntu-based ISO images for dialysis machine hardware, ensuring that all necessary software, configurations, and drivers are integrated.
- Automate the process of creating, testing, and updating ISO images for deployment to a fleet of dialysis machines.
- Work with hardware teams to ensure proper integration of IoT sensors and modules within the ISO image.
- Optimize boot times, resource utilization, and overall system stability for the devices.
- Embedded Systems & IoT Integration:
- Develop and integrate IoT capabilities into dialysis machines, ensuring that the system can gather and transmit vital data in real-time.
- Configure embedded Linux systems and devices to enable communication between the dialysis machines and central monitoring systems.
- Ensure the devices are securely connected and adhere to relevant standards and regulations.
- System Administration & Troubleshooting:
- Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot images running on dialysis machines.
- Monitor system health, diagnose issues, and apply patches/updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Ensure seamless system updates across all deployed devices.
- Automation & Scripting:
- Create and maintain automation scripts for building, testing, and deploying ISO images.
- Automate the integration of diagnostic tools and software updates to the ISO images for ease of maintenance and scalability.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure that all ISO images comply with regulatory standards .
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for the process of ISO creation, IoT integration, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with the regulatory and quality assurance teams to ensure all systems meet the necessary medical device regulations.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, medical device specialists, and software developers to ensure smooth system integration.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders on issues related to ISO creation and IoT integration.
- Assist in training other team members on the use and maintenance of the IoT-enabled dialysis systems.
- Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in IoT development, particularly with embedded Linux systems and IoT device integration.
- Strong knowledge of ISO creation and customization, with experience in Linux system administration preferably Ubuntu.
- Hands-on experience with embedded systems, hardware-software integration, and troubleshooting.
- Strong scripting skills for automation and customization tasks.
- Knowledge of networking protocols and security principles for IoT-enabled medical devices (e.g., data encryption, secure communications).
- Experience with diagnostic tools and monitoring systems for remote device management.
- Experience creating CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.
- Experience with ubuntu live CD customization.
- Experience with MariaDB, Perl and Python.
