About the role
As an AI/ML Lead, you will make an impact by defining and executing enterprise AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI strategies that drive innovation, operational efficiency, and measurable business outcomes. You will be a valued member of the Data & AI leadership team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, data platform teams, architects, governance leaders, and engineering teams to build and scale AI capabilities across the organization.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and execute enterprise AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI strategy aligned with business objectives and growth priorities.
- Lead the delivery of AI, predictive analytics, machine learning, and agentic AI solutions that address critical business challenges and create measurable value.
- Establish AI engineering standards, MLOps practices, model lifecycle management processes, and deployment frameworks to support scalable and reliable AI operations.
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams of data scientists, ML engineers, GenAI engineers, and AI architects.
- Partner with technology, data, governance, and business teams to enable AI-ready data, ensure responsible AI practices, and drive adoption of AI capabilities across the enterprise.

What you need to have to be considered
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Analytics, or AI leadership roles.
- Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Databricks, cloud-based AI services, MLOps frameworks, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI platforms.
- Experience establishing model lifecycle management, deployment standards, monitoring practices, and AI governance frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business challenges into scalable AI solutions with measurable business outcomes.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving enterprise transformation initiatives.
- Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
These will help you stand out
- Experience with agentic AI, intelligent automation, and advanced decision intelligence solutions.
- Knowledge of Responsible AI practices, model transparency, regulatory compliance, and risk management frameworks.
- Experience measuring AI adoption, productivity improvements, business value realization, and ROI.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience evaluating and implementing emerging AI technologies, partnerships, and innovation programs.
- Advanced degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in AI, Machine Learning, Databricks, AWS, Azure, or cloud technologies.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $119.000 - $135.000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
