Senior Full Stack Engineer (Java/AWS)
About the role
As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting scalable cloud-native applications that drive business outcomes and deliver exceptional user experiences. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with architects, product owners, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, high-performing solutions across modern cloud environments.
This position does not offer visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work without sponsorship now or in the future, including OPT, CPT, H1B or any other work authorization requiring employer sponsorship.
In this role, you will:
- Design, build, and support cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, TypeScript, and AWS technologies.
- Develop and maintain scalable microservices, serverless solutions, and event-driven architectures.
- Create and consume RESTful APIs while ensuring performance, security, and reliability standards are met.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues through monitoring, observability, and root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software using Agile methodologies and CI/CD best practices.
Work model ( Remote)
This role requires candidates to be based in the United States and available to work East Coast business hours.

What you need to have to be considered
- Extensive professional experience developing enterprise applications using Java (8/11/17+).
- Strong hands-on experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot, including RESTful services and dependency injection.
- Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS, including Lambda, DynamoDB, Step Functions, S3, DocumentDB, and IAM.
- Experience developing APIs using Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of serverless, microservices, and event-driven architecture patterns.
- Experience building and consuming APIs using REST, JSON, and OpenAPI specifications.
- Experience with application monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog.
- Strong knowledge of multithreaded programming, concurrency, and application performance optimization.
- Experience working with non-relational databases, particularly DynamoDB and DocumentDB.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
These will help you stand out
- Experience with Angular development.
- Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Experience with Hibernate/JPA.
- Experience implementing automated testing strategies within CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to large-scale distributed systems and high-availability applications.

Compensation
The annual salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, subject to performance and applicable plan terms.
