Job summary
GeoSpatial Senior Analyst MAP will design maintain and optimize Splunk based monitoring and analytics solutions to support complex geospatial data platforms in a hybrid work model. The role focuses on ensuring high availability performance and observability of mission critical systems while driving data driven insights that improve operational efficiency and contribute to safer smarter infrastructure for clients across global markets.
Responsibilities
Design and maintain robust Splunk administration configurations that support large scale geospatial data ingestion indexing and search to ensure reliable analytics for business stakeholders.Configure and optimize Splunk infrastructure components including deployment servers forwarder management and app configurations to achieve consistent performance and operational stability in a hybrid work environment.Develop complex Splunk queries dashboards and alerts tailored for geospatial data patterns to provide actionable insights that improve situational awareness and decision support across business functions.Implement rigorous data onboarding processes within Splunk for diverse geo referenced data sources ensuring accurate timestamping field extraction and metadata standards that enhance analytic quality.Monitor Splunk platform health capacity and resource utilization proactively tuning indexing and search strategies to maintain high availability and meet demanding service level expectations for day shifts.Collaborate with application owners and data engineering teams to translate monitoring requirements into Splunk use cases improving fault detection incident response and root cause analysis for geospatial solutions.Establish and refine Splunk role based access controls and configurations that uphold strong security compliance while enabling flexible analytics for operational and strategic teams.Develop and maintain comprehensive Splunk documentation including runbooks configuration baselines and operational procedures to support consistent maintenance and efficient onboarding of new team members.Coordinate Splunk upgrade activities app lifecycle management and change implementations to ensure smooth transitions minimal downtime and alignment with enterprise standards.Analyze log and metric data within Splunk to identify performance bottlenecks recurring errors and optimization opportunities that enhance the reliability of map based applications.Drive continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating new Splunk capabilities and administrative best practices and recommending enhancements that increase automation resilience and insight generation.Support incident and problem management activities during day shifts by using Splunk searches and dashboards to quickly isolate issues and propose corrective actions for geospatial platforms.Engage with internal clients to understand analytic requirements for map centric workflows and translate those needs into scalable Splunk visualizations and alerts that amplify operational impact.
Qualifications
Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Splunk administration including deployment architecture configuration management and app lifecycle operations gained through six to ten years of hands on experience.Apply strong expertise in designing Splunk dashboards searches and alerts for complex technical environments with a focus on geo referenced and spatially dense data sets.Utilize solid understanding of enterprise monitoring logging and observability concepts to integrate Splunk with various data pipelines systems and applications in a hybrid operating model.Bring practical experience with performance tuning indexing best practices and capacity planning for Splunk to sustain reliable operations for mission critical mapping and analytics platforms.Exhibit working knowledge of general networking operating systems and application architectures to diagnose issues surfaced by Splunk and communicate findings effectively to cross functional teams.Present clear and structured communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders share insights from Splunk analytics and contribute to continuous service improvements without requiring business travel.
