Job Summary

The OTA Software Test Engineer supports the end to end verification plan for the Software Updates initiative by supporting the test strategies for manual and automated execution define by the OTA Test coordinators holding regular technical team meetings to determine test progress software defects and tracking software updates to fix issues.


Responsibilities

  • Design and execute comprehensive test suites using vTestStudio to validate complex automotive systems and ensure consistent product quality across multiple releases.
  • Develop robust automation scripts in Python to streamline regression testing improve repeatability of verification activities and reduce manual effort for the project team.
  • Create and maintain Bash scripts that support test environment setup log collection and result aggregation enabling efficient diagnostic analysis for stakeholders.
  • Author CAPL scripts for automotive communication testing to verify network behavior message integrity and timing characteristics in line with project requirements.
  • Build and enhance reusable test frameworks that integrate scripting reporting and data management supporting scalable verification and validation workflows.
  • Plan prepare and execute auto verification and validation cycles by defining test objectives selecting appropriate methods and aligning coverage with system level requirements.
  • Analyze test results identify defects and document findings in a structured manner that supports clear prioritization root cause investigation and timely resolution by development teams.
  • Collaborate closely with cross functional teams to clarify requirements refine test strategies and ensure that verification outcomes directly contribute to safer and more reliable automotive solutions.
  • Provide detailed test reports and metrics to project stakeholders highlighting risks trends and improvement opportunities that drive continuous enhancement of product performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate test environment readiness in the office location and during travel assignments ensuring required hardware software and connectivity are available for uninterrupted execution.
  • Communicate clearly in English through written documentation and spoken discussions supporting effective knowledge sharing and alignment across global project participants.
  • Adhere to organizational quality standards and safety guidelines in all test activities helping the company deliver trustworthy mobility solutions that positively impact society.
  • Support the onboarding of new tools and methods within the test ecosystem by evaluating suitability proposing refinements and integrating them into the existing framework for long term efficiency.


Qualifications

  • Offer professional experience of at least three years and not more than seven years in test analysis with a solid background in automated verification and validation for automotive systems.
  • Demonstrate hands on proficiency in vTestStudio including test case design automation execution and maintenance of test assets for complex embedded functionalities.
  • Apply strong Python scripting skills to build modular test utilities data parsers and validation routines that enable scalable and maintainable automated test solutions.
  • Use Bash scripting capability to manage test workflows on relevant platforms including environment configuration job scheduling and log handling activities.
  • Employ CAPL scripting for bus communication testing such as message simulation signal monitoring and behavior verification within automotive networks.
  • Bring practical experience in test framework development including architecture design component integration and extension of existing frameworks to cover new features.
  • Possess proven exposure to auto verification and validation processes with understanding of typical automotive standards lifecycle stages and traceability expectations.
  • Demonstrate fluency in English for reading writing and speaking to ensure accurate interpretation of requirements and effective presentation of test findings.
  • Show readiness to work from office in day shift and to travel when needed for onsite testing system integration sessions or collaborative activities with partner teams.


Certifications Required

ISTQB Certified Tester or equivalent software testing certification with any additional automotive domain or test automation certification preferred
