About the role
As a QE Test Automation Engineer – Mobile & Web Automation, you will make an impact by designing and implementing scalable automation solutions that improve software quality across mobile and web applications. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with developers, architects, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality digital experiences.
In this role, you will:
• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for web and mobile applications using Playwright, Selenium, and other modern testing tools.
• Develop and execute automated test scripts for iOS applications using Swift and XCUITest, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and reliability.
• Collaborate with development and architecture teams to enhance testability, improve quality practices, and support technical design discussions.
• Perform functional, integration, and automation testing while identifying and communicating quality risks, issues, and mitigation plans.
• Contribute to CI/CD and DevOps initiatives by integrating automated testing solutions with tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
Work model

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Austin, TX or Sunnyvale, CA. What you need to have to be considered
• 6+ years of experience in software development, software testing, or quality engineering with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience with Java and TypeScript programming for automation development.
• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright and Selenium.
• Strong experience in iOS mobile application testing, including automation development using Swift and XCUITest.
• Proven expertise in test automation scripting, debugging, functional testing, and integration testing.
• Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and software testing best practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate risks, issues, and recommendations effectively.
These will help you stand out
• Experience with additional programming languages such as Python or Swift.
• Knowledge of design patterns and experience participating in application architecture discussions.
• Exposure to DevOps and cloud technologies including Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Experience with performance testing and tools such as JMeter.
• Self-motivated and proactive mindset with strong ownership and accountability.
