Job Summary

This role is for an experienced senior developer specializing in SAP Basis across application lifecycle management administration and integration combined with strong cheminformatics and bioinformatics domain expertise. The professional will design implement and optimize SAP Basis environments that support complex scientific workflows in a hybrid work model ensuring reliable day shift operations and robust platforms that enable data driven research.


Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize SAP Basis environments that support complex cheminformatics and bioinformatics workflows to ensure stable and scalable platforms for scientific research and data analysis.
  • Administer core SAP Basis components including system configuration performance tuning and user access management to maintain high availability and reliability for day shift hybrid operations.
  • Manage SAP application lifecycle activities such as installation upgrade patching and migration to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruption to mission critical laboratory systems.
  • Coordinate SAP Basis app integration across analytical and research systems so that data from cheminformatics and bioinformatics platforms flows consistently into enterprise applications and reporting tools.
  • Monitor system health logs and performance indicators to proactively identify issues in SAP Basis landscapes and implement corrective actions that protect research data integrity and system responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with domain experts in chemistry and biology to translate cheminformatics and bioinformatics requirements into robust SAP technical designs that enhance experiment tracking and results management.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures for SAP Basis administration including backup recovery and environment refresh activities to safeguard sensitive scientific and business information.
  • Implement configuration and transport strategies for SAP Basis that support controlled deployment of changes across development test and production environments aligned with research project timelines.
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams on using SAP Basis capabilities to streamline laboratory workflows improve data accessibility and reduce manual effort across scientific applications.
  • Analyze incident and problem trends in SAP Basis systems supporting cheminformatics and bioinformatics to recommend targeted improvements that reduce recurring issues and improve user satisfaction.
  • Document solution architectures system configurations and integration patterns in clear technical artifacts that enable consistent support and future enhancements across hybrid work settings.
  • Align SAP Basis operations with organizational quality and compliance standards in the life sciences context helping ensure that systems supporting research meet audit and regulatory expectations.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure that SAP Basis platforms are hardened and resilient while still enabling efficient collaboration among research and business stakeholders.


Qualifications

  • Apply advanced knowledge of SAP Basis administration to manage system landscapes client strategies and transport routes in environments that support scientific data processing.
  • Utilize hands on experience in SAP Basis app lifecycle management to plan and execute upgrades patch deployment and system copies with careful consideration of research project needs and timelines.
  • Leverage strong SAP Basis app integration skills to connect enterprise resource planning tools with cheminformatics and bioinformatics applications enabling end to end data visibility.
  • Use proven SAP Basis expertise to troubleshoot complex performance and connectivity issues and to design improvements that enhance responsiveness of analytical and laboratory related processes.
  • Draw on practical experience with cheminformatics to understand chemical structure data handling and to shape SAP solutions that better support compound registration and analysis activities.
  • Apply bioinformatics domain knowledge to align SAP environments with genomic proteomic and related data workflows supporting more efficient storage retrieval and reporting.
  • Demonstrate capability gained over six to eight years of professional experience to operate independently in hybrid work models and to deliver consistent outcomes without requiring travel.
  • Employ effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with scientific and business stakeholders ensuring SAP Basis solutions genuinely advance organizational research and societal impact.


Certifications Required

Preferred certifications include SAP Basis technology certification and relevant training in life sciences informatics such as bioinformatics or cheminformatics.
