Job Summary

This hybrid work model Technical Lead role focuses on designing developing and optimizing SAP MDG solutions using advanced ABAP and MDG workflow capabilities while ensuring robust configuration and functional alignment across master data processes. The position requires six to ten years of experience and close collaboration with business and technology teams to deliver scalable high quality data governance solutions that support reliable operations and broader organizational goals.


Responsibilities

  • Drive end to end design and development of SAP MDG solutions using core ABAP for MDG and advanced ABAP techniques to implement scalable master data governance processes that improve data quality and operational reliability across the enterprise.
  • Coordinate configuration of SAP MDG components including data models user interfaces validation rules and derivations to ensure that master data structures align with business requirements and support consistent data usage across systems.
  • Execute SAP MDG workflow design and enhancement by building approval flows routing rules and task controls that streamline data change requests and reduce cycle times while maintaining strong compliance with governance standards.
  • Deliver SAP MDG functional analysis by gathering requirements mapping current and target master data processes and translating functional needs into clear technical solutions that minimize defects and rework in production.
  • Implement and fine tune SAP MDG configuration for various domains such as customer vendor material or finance data to enable harmonized data across landscapes and enhance reporting accuracy and business decision making.
  • Optimize SAP MDG performance through advanced ABAP coding practices code reviews and tuning of data access patterns to ensure responsive user experience and efficient processing of high volume data change requests.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams in a hybrid work model by conducting design sessions solution walkthroughs and defect triage activities that promote transparency and shared ownership of master data outcomes.
  • Provide detailed technical documentation including solution design specifications configuration guides and operational procedures that support maintainability and knowledge transfer within global delivery teams.
  • Support integration between SAP MDG and surrounding systems by analyzing interfaces data flows and mapping requirements to ensure accurate and timely synchronization of master data across the distributed application landscape.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by assessing existing SAP MDG implementations identifying automation and simplification opportunities and presenting enhancements that reduce manual effort and improve user satisfaction.
  • Guide defect resolution and incident analysis by investigating root causes in ABAP code workflows and MDG configuration and implementing corrective changes that enhance system stability and reduce recurring issues.
  • Facilitate adoption of SAP MDG solutions by providing functional demonstrations explaining end to end process flows and supporting user enablement activities that help stakeholders appreciate the value of governed master data.
  • Align technical deliverables with organizational purpose by ensuring that reliable master data supports ethical business operations accurate reporting and improved service to customers and communities. Qualifications
  • Demonstrate strong experience in SAP ABAP for MDG including custom enhancements user exit implementations and data validation logic that ensure master data accuracy and consistency over time.
  • Show proven capability in SAP MDG workflow design and customization by building flexible approval chains substitution rules and task configurations that align process controls with business governance policies.
  • Possess hands on SAP MDG functional expertise by understanding change request types data models and process variants so that master data lifecycle design matches practical operational needs and industry standards.
  • Exhibit deep knowledge of SAP MDG configuration activities such as defining entity types attributes reuse structures and validation frameworks to support stable and extensible master data solutions.
  • Apply SAP MDG advanced ABAP skills to create complex data transformations enhancement spots and reusable utilities that improve solution performance maintainability and adaptability to evolving requirements.
  • Utilize SAP MDG solution understanding to coordinate with business stakeholders and technical peers in a hybrid work setup ensuring clear communication timely delivery and effective collaboration without reliance on travel.


Certifications Required

SAP Certified Development Associate ABAP with SAP NetWeaver preferred along with SAP MDG related certifications where available.
