About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on PEGA Lead System Architect (LSA) to lead the design, architecture, and delivery of enterprise-grade Pega solutions. In this role, you will drive the development of scalable, secure, and high-performing applications while ensuring adherence to Pega best practices and architectural standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and implementing complex Pega applications, including expertise with the Pega Smart Claims Engine (SCE). A strong background in healthcare, enterprise integrations, data modeling, and regulatory compliance is essential. Knowledge of healthcare standards and transactions, including HIPAA, EDI, 835, and 837, is required to support efficient and compliant claims processing solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design, development, configuration, testing, and optimization of Pega applications, applying Pega best practices, design patterns, coding standards, and performance tuning techniques.

  • Architect and implement scalable Pega class structures, case types, workflows, user interfaces, integrations, and reusable components to support enterprise healthcare solutions.

  • Utilize healthcare domain expertise to deliver solutions aligned with healthcare operations and claims processing requirements.

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing effective technical solutions.

  • Collaborate within Agile/SAFe teams, participating in sprint ceremonies, technical reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering with distributed and cross-functional teams.

  • Build strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders, effectively communicating technical concepts and driving successful solution delivery.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered

  • Pega Lead System Architect (LSA) certification with proven experience providing technical leadership across large-scale Pega implementations.

  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying secure, scalable, and high-performance Pega applications, including class structures, case management workflows, UI models, and reusable frameworks.

  • Strong expertise integrating Pega applications with enterprise platforms using REST APIs, microservices, and other modern integration technologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct technical reviews, monitor application quality and performance, mitigate technical risks, and ensure compliance with Pega guardrails and development standards.

  • Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments with strong stakeholder engagement and healthcare claims processing knowledge.

The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, subject to performance and applicable plan terms.
