AI Engg. Architect

Job Summary

The role of AI Engg focuses on designing and optimizing scalable infrastructure foundations for advanced artificial intelligence solutions using Terraform in a hybrid work model. The candidate applies over fifteen years of experience to create secure reliable and cost effective platforms that support data driven products and applications for global finance and accounting stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design robust infrastructure blueprints that enable scalable and secure deployment of AI platforms using Terraform and modern cloud native practices ensuring reliable operation for complex enterprise workloads in a hybrid environment.
• Develop standardized Terraform modules and reusable templates that simplify infrastructure provisioning improve consistency across environments and reduce operational risk for AI and data engineering teams.
• Coordinate end to end infrastructure lifecycle activities including planning capacity forecasting environment setup and continuous improvement so that AI applications meet performance and cost targets.
• Optimize infrastructure architectures by analyzing resource usage storage patterns and compute needs generating recommendations that balance resilience efficiency and budget constraints for data heavy workloads.
• Guide cross functional teams in adopting infrastructure as code practices with Terraform ensuring version control peer review and automated validation processes are integrated into daily workflows.
• Integrate monitoring logging and alerting capabilities into AI infrastructure stacks so that incidents are detected quickly root causes are identified efficiently and service reliability is steadily improved.
• Collaborate with information security and compliance partners to align infrastructure designs with regulatory expectations especially when supporting finance and accounting use cases and sensitive data.
• Evaluate new cloud services infrastructure tooling and automation techniques selecting options that strengthen AI platform capabilities and support long term technology strategy for the company.
• Document infrastructure designs configuration standards and runbooks in clear and accessible formats that help engineering and operations teams support AI solutions with confidence.
• Coordinate efforts with data engineering and AI solution teams to ensure infrastructure capacity networking and storage layers are tuned for machine learning pipelines and analytical workloads.
• Support hybrid work practices by enabling secure remote access solutions and environment consistency so team members can contribute effectively from multiple locations without disruption.
• Contribute to organizational goals by aligning infrastructure decisions to business outcomes especially in finance and accounting domains where reliable AI insights improve stakeholder trust and societal impact.
• Provide expert guidance during incident reviews and architecture assessments capturing lessons learned and translating them into infrastructure improvements that enhance resilience of AI systems.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate deep hands on expertise in Terraform based infrastructure as code including module design state management and integration with cloud provider services across large scale environments.
• Bring fifteen plus years of experience in infrastructure engineering or architecture with strong focus on automation reliability and scalable design for complex enterprise application landscapes.
• Possess solid understanding of AI and data platform requirements including compute intensive workloads data pipelines storage strategies and high availability considerations.
• Apply knowledge of finance and accounting processes as a beneficial domain skill to shape infrastructure solutions that respect data sensitivity and support analytical reporting needs.
• Show proficiency working in hybrid delivery models with day shift schedules using collaboration tools and structured documentation to maintain productivity across distributed teams.
• Exhibit strong communication and problem solving capabilities by translating technical infrastructure details into clear guidance for engineering partners and business stakeholders.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $60-80/hrdepending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
