About the role
As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will make an impact by managing and supporting the enterprise infrastructure that keeps our servers, virtualization, cloud, storage, and network services reliable, secure, and available. You will be a valued member of the Infrastructure team and work collaboratively with network, security, and application teams, as well as offshore infrastructure, cloud, network, and security teams.
In this role, you will:
- Manage Windows and Linux servers and the broader enterprise infrastructure
- Administer VMware and Hyper-V virtualization environments
- Monitor infrastructure availability and performance, and act on issues to keep services running smoothly
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and identity services, and support Azure and AWS cloud environments
- Carry out backup, patching, and disaster recovery activities, while partnering with network, security, and application teams and providing onsite hands-and-feet support for datacenter operations, rack and stack, firewall and network infrastructure, and offshore teams

Based on this role's business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Sydney, NSW. What you need to have to be considered
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration
- Solid working knowledge of virtualization platforms, including VMware and Hyper-V
- Proficiency with cloud platforms, with exposure to Azure and AWS
- Solid understanding of networking, firewall technologies, and datacenter operations
- Working knowledge of infrastructure monitoring and security practices
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Willingness to travel as required

- Experience with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure automation
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
- Automation scripting skills
