Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced MES Business Analyst / Scrum Master to support digital manufacturing initiatives within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
This role combines hands-on business analysis with agile delivery responsibilities. The individual will partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Digital/IT teams, Product Owners, and implementation partners to define requirements, manage backlogs, facilitate agile ceremonies, and support implementation readiness.
The role may support initiatives including MES/eBR, Golden Batch, Connected Worker, OEE, PAT, manufacturing analytics, and shop-floor digitalization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business and process discovery sessions with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Digital/IT stakeholders.
- Translate manufacturing needs into business/functional requirements, user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria, and prioritized backlogs.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Partner with Product Owners and business stakeholders to prioritize requirements based on business value, feasibility, risk, and implementation readiness.
- Support future-state process and solution design for MES, Golden Batch, Connected Worker, and OEE initiatives.
- Document process, data, integration, reporting, validation, and user-adoption requirements.
- Track dependencies, risks, issues, actions, and decisions and escalate delivery blockers when required.
- Support testing preparation, UAT/business-user engagement, training, change readiness, and manufacturing-site deployment activities.
- Support PAT-related assessments, including use-case definition, stakeholder interviews, requirements gathering, and benefit/risk analysis.
- Ensure requirements and delivery activities consider GMP, data integrity, validation/CSV, and regulated manufacturing requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Business Analyst, Scrum Master, Product Analyst, or similar role within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or another GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, batch execution, shop-floor processes, and manufacturing systems.
- Experience gathering and documenting requirements for MES, eBR, shop-floor, manufacturing digitalization, or related manufacturing technology solutions.
- Hands-on Agile/Scrum experience including user stories, backlog management, sprint ceremonies, acceptance criteria, and delivery tracking.
- Working knowledge of GMP, data integrity, CSV/validation, and computerized systems within regulated manufacturing.
- Strong workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Digital/IT, and implementation partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- MES / Electronic Batch Records (eBR)
- OEE
- Golden Batch
- Connected Worker / Digital Work Instructions
- Industrial IoT / IIoT
- Process historians / manufacturing data platforms
- Manufacturing analytics
- PAT / process monitoring
- Experience supporting manufacturing-site pilots, deployments, or multi-site rollouts.
- Scrum Master, Product Owner, Business Analysis, or Agile certification.
Compensation: - CAD 90,000 to CAD 120,000 + COLA and this position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans. Application will be accepted by 10/30/2026
