Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Core Banking Engineer with deep expertise in the Profile Core Banking platform, specializing in PSL and MUMPS development within the core system. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building, enhancing, and maintaining critical banking logic directly within the core platform. While exposure to integration and front-end technologies is beneficial, the primary expectation is strong core platform development capability. The role requires strong domain knowledge in banking systems, high-performance coding, and the ability to deliver reliable and scalable solutions in enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design and develop core banking application logic within the Profile core platform.
· Write, enhance, and optimize code using Profile Scripting Language (PSL) and/or MUMPS.
· Develop and maintain core modules supporting banking operations and transaction processing.
· Perform end-to-end development lifecycle activities including coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and deployment.
· Ensure high performance, scalability, and stability of core banking applications.
· Maintain and integrate application components within the broader core banking ecosystem.
· Collaborate with integration and front-end teams where necessary, while retaining ownership of core logic.
· Support core banking implementation initiatives such as system upgrades, data conversions, and enhancements.
· Provide technical guidance on platform capabilities, limitations, and best practices to stakeholders.
· Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system performance within the core environment.
Qualifications:
· 7–10+ years of experience in core banking development with strong hands-on expertise in Profile platform environments.
· Deep proficiency in PSL (Profile Scripting Language) and MUMPS-based development.
· Strong experience building and maintaining core banking logic directly within a Profile-based system.
· Solid understanding of banking products, workflows, and transaction processing systems.
· Knowledge of GT.M (NoSQL database) or similar core banking data environments.
· Exposure to integration technologies such as Java, Spring, APIs, or service-based architectures is a plus.
· Experience working on large-scale core banking implementations, upgrades, or modernization initiatives.
· Strong analytical, debugging, and performance optimization skills.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The hourly salary for this position is between $[ 113,000 - 132,500] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
