Role Summary

The Salesforce Data Migration Architect will own the end-to-end migration architecture for a large-scale Salesforce transformation program involving terabytes of enterprise data. The role is responsible for defining migration strategies, Azure Data Factory architecture, Salesforce integration patterns, data governance standards, performance optimization, cutover planning, and overall migration governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define enterprise-wide Salesforce data migration architecture.

  • Design scalable migration solutions using Azure Data Factory.

  • Define source-to-target data mapping strategy.

  • Architect high-volume bulk migration mechanisms into Salesforce.

  • Design data quality, cleansing, and reconciliation frameworks.

  • Define migration waves and cutover strategy.

  • Establish migration governance and best practices.

  • Drive performance optimization for multi-terabyte datasets.

  • Review Salesforce object model and migration dependencies.

  • Collaborate with Salesforce Architects, Business Teams, and Azure Platform teams.

  • Lead migration risk assessment and mitigation planning.

  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and audit requirements.

Mandatory Skills

Salesforce

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture.

  • Experience with Standard and Custom Objects.

  • Knowledge of Salesforce Data Architecture.

  • Salesforce Bulk API and Integration Patterns.

  • Experience in Salesforce Transformation Programs.

Azure

  • Azure Data Factory (ADF)

  • Azure Data Lake Storage

  • Azure SQL / Synapse

  • Monitoring and performance tuning of ADF pipelines

Data Migration

  • Large-scale data migration experience (>1 TB preferred)

  • Data reconciliation

  • Data quality management

  • ETL/ELT design

  • Migration cutover management

Experience

  • 12+ years overall IT experience

  • 5+ years Salesforce programs

  • 5+ years Azure Data Engineering/Data Migration

  • At least 2 large-scale Salesforce migration programs
