We are seeking a highly accomplished Quality Engineering Lead with proven expertise across functional testing, automation, AI-driven testing, and team leadership. This role is pivotal in driving end-to-end quality strategy, execution excellence, and innovation across complex healthcare programs. The ideal candidate will ensure high-quality, scalable, and compliant deliverables aligned with client expectations, while championing modern QE practices, GenAI adoption, and continuous testing frameworks.
In this role, you will
- Lead end-to-end Quality Engineering strategy, planning, and execution across multiple releases.
- Drive test strategy, test planning, and execution to ensure minimal defect leakage and high production stability.
- Oversee validation across functional, integration, and end-to-end business workflows.
- Manage requirement traceability, defect lifecycle, and risk mitigation.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, SLAs, and delivery timelines.
- Lead and manage an offshore QE team (up to 10 members).
Test Design & Execution
- Analyse business and system requirements (BRD/FRD) and translate them into:
- Detailed test scenarios and test cases
- Comprehensive test data strategies
- Enable shift-left testing and early defect detection.
Healthcare Domain Expertise
- Perform validation across healthcare platforms, including:
- Facets
- TriZetto ecosystem (including AI Gateway and integrations)
- Ensure deep domain alignment across:
- Claims, Membership, Provider, and Eligibility workflows
- Leverage domain understanding to improve test coverage and accuracy.
Automation & Engineering Excellence
- Design, develop, and scale automation frameworks using Selenium.
- Drive automation-first approach with strong focus on:
- Regression optimisation
- Reusability and maintainability
- Lead web services/API testing and automation, ensuring integration reliability.
AI & Modern QE Practices
- Leverage AI-powered tools to accelerate testing and productivity, including:
- ROVO AI (agent-driven testing and orchestration)
- GitHub Copilot (GHCP)
- Claude / GenAI-based assistants
- Drive adoption of AI-driven continuous testing models aligned with enterprise QE initiatives
DevOps & CI/CD Integration
- Design and manage CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
- Integrate continuous testing within build and deployment cycles.
- Enable seamless DevOps-QE alignment for faster release cycles.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Provide:
- Task allocation and tracking
- Delivery oversight and review
- Mentoring and performance guidance
- Collaborate with onshore stakeholders, architects, and business teams.
- Act as the primary QE point of contact for client interactions.

Total compensation:
We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 80,000 – 110,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
Working arrangements
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, province.
