Job Title - Python-Snowflake Data engineer

Job Summary

This role is for a senior developer with six to ten years of experience who designs and develops data solutions using Python and Snowflake platforms in a hybrid work model. The role focuses on building scalable data pipelines and robust Snowflake SQL tasks to support complex analytics for enterprise clients, with added value if the individual has experience in property and casualty insurance data.

Responsibilities

  • -Design and implement scalable data processing solutions using Python that transform raw data into reliable assets for analytics and reporting -Develop and optimize complex Snowflake SQL queries and tasks that support enterprise data warehousing and operational reporting needs -Build resilient batch and near real time data pipelines that move data efficiently across systems while maintaining accuracy and consistency -Create reusable Python modules and frameworks that standardize data ingestion transformation and validation patterns across multiple projects -Optimize Snowflake workloads by tuning queries managing clustering strategies and improving resource usage to deliver predictable performance -Implement robust monitoring and alerting for Snowflake tasks and Python jobs to detect issues early and reduce downtime for data consumers -Collaborate with data architects analysts and product partners to translate business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans -Document data models data flows and pipeline logic clearly so that teams can maintain troubleshoot and extend solutions with confidence -Apply secure coding practices and data protection standards to ensure that sensitive data is handled responsibly across all solutions -Contribute to continuous improvement of development standards code review practices and automation approaches within the engineering team -Work closely with stakeholders to prioritize enhancements resolve defects and deliver incremental value through well planned releases -Analyze production incidents identify root causes and implement preventive improvements that strengthen the stability of data platforms -Leverage domain understanding in property and casualty insurance when available to design data solutions that reflect practical underwriting claims and policy use cases .

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $100-109K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
