Senior Data Analyst – Data Mapping & Data Analysis
About the Role
As a Senior Data Analyst – Data Mapping & Data Analysis, you will make an impact by driving enterprise data transformation, migration, and modernization initiatives through detailed data analysis, profiling, mapping, and quality assessment. You will be a valued member of the Data & Analytics team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, solution architects, data engineers, product owners, and governance teams to deliver trusted, high-quality data solutions that support strategic business objectives.
In this role, you will leverage your expertise in data discovery, source-to-target mappings, SQL development, and data quality analysis to transform business requirements into scalable data solutions and actionable insights.
In This Role, You Will
- Perform detailed data analysis, profiling, and discovery across multiple source systems to assess data quality, integrity, and business readiness.
- Develop and maintain Source-to-Target Mapping (STM) documents for data migration, integration, transformation, and reporting initiatives.
- Translate business requirements into detailed data transformation rules, mapping specifications, and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to define data solutions, identify gaps, and support successful project delivery.
- Conduct data validation, reconciliation, impact analysis, and quality assessments to ensure accurate and consistent data across enterprise platforms.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Data Mapping, Data Warehousing, Data Management, or related disciplines.
- Extensive experience creating and maintaining Source-to-Target Mapping (STM) documentation.
- Strong hands-on expertise with SQL for data extraction, profiling, validation, reconciliation, and analysis.
- Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Python, and Erwin.
- Strong understanding of data profiling, data lineage, metadata management, and data quality analysis.
- Experience working with relational databases, dimensional modeling, and enterprise data warehousing concepts.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise data transformation, migration, or modernization programs.
- Ability to translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and mapping artifacts.
- Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
These Will Help You Stand Out
- Experience working in Insurance, Financial Services, Healthcare, or other regulated industries.
- Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools and modern data integration frameworks.
- Experience using reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data stewardship frameworks.
- Experience performing impact analysis for schema changes, business rule modifications, and data model updates.
- Knowledge of enterprise data architecture and modernization best practices.
- Experience creating data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and business glossaries.

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is anticipated to be between $105,000 and $125,000, depending on experience, qualifications, geographic location, skills, and other job-related factors.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
