About the role

As a Technical Manager, you will make an impact by leading the design, development, and modernization of enterprise applications using Microsoft technologies. You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and cloud-native solutions that drive business value and support digital transformation initiatives.

You will play a key role in defining application architecture, establishing development standards, and providing technical leadership across complex projects within a dynamic enterprise environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale applications using .NET, Azure, and Angular technologies.
  • Define solution architecture, technical standards, and best practices to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Drive cloud transformation initiatives and modernization of legacy applications to Microsoft Azure.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
  • Design and implement APIs, microservices, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and performance standards.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, technical assessments, and code reviews.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring three days per week onsite at the client location in Washington, DC, and two days per week remote.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Microsoft .NET technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services and solution architecture.
  • Expertise in Angular and modern front-end development frameworks.
  • Experience designing scalable, secure, highly available enterprise applications.
  • Strong understanding of API development, microservices architecture, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Experience leading technical initiatives and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Azure certifications.
  • Experience supporting Financial Services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with application modernization and cloud migration programs.
  • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience implementing application security and performance optimization best practices.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $100,890 and $181,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
