Job Summary:
As a Principal architect you will be designing and governing data and analytics solutions on Databricks platforms while ensuring scalable secure and compliant architectures. Lead and manage multiple teams of data engineers and testers to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize data models, pipelines, and transformations using Databricks and dbt Cloud
- Establish and enforce data governance standards, and best practices.
- Manage, mentor, and develop multiple teams of data engineers — including task allocation, performance reviews, and technical guidance.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical deliverables.
- Drive team delivery through sprint planning, prioritisation, and removal of blockers
Skills Required:
- Strong hands-on expertise with Databricks (Lakehouse, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, PySpark),Python, SQL
- Strong hands-on expertise with dbt Cloud (data transformations, testing, documentation, CI/CD).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ELT/ETL patterns.
- People management experience — track record of leading and growing technical teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Knowledge of streaming architectures and real-time data processing
- Demonstrated experience in client and stakeholder management — leading workshops, presenting deliverables, and managing expectation .Ability to influence decision-making and build consensus across cross-functional teams .
- Experience with Data Vault 2.0 methodology (hubs, links, satellites), AWS
