Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to design and deliver high-quality enterprise reporting solutions. This role focuses on transforming raw data into actionable insights through robust data modeling, advanced DAX calculations, and intuitive dashboards. You will work closely with data engineering and business teams to ensure scalable, accurate, and user-friendly analytics solutions. The position requires strong expertise in Power BI, data storytelling, and enterprise BI administration.
In this role, you will:
· Perform data transformation tasks including data gathering, cleaning, and shaping using Power Query (M code).
· Design and develop optimized semantic data models using star schema and best-practice modeling techniques.
· Create advanced DAX measures, KPIs, and time-intelligence calculations to support business analytics.
· Develop visually compelling, user-friendly dashboards aligned with data storytelling and UX best practices.
· Implement and manage enterprise BI features such as Row-Level Security (RLS), incremental refresh, and deployment pipelines.
· Administer Power BI Service including gateway configuration, dataset optimization, and report publishing.
· Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure efficient integration with Azure data platforms and data warehouses.
· Continuously optimize report performance, usability, and scalability across enterprise deployments.
What you need to have to be considered
· Strong expertise in Power BI including Power BI Desktop, Service, and custom visual development.
· Advanced proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M), with working knowledge of SQL.
· Solid understanding of data modeling concepts including star schema and semantic layer design.
· Experience with Microsoft data ecosystem including Azure SQL, Synapse, and Microsoft Fabric.
· Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and BI best practices.
· Strong analytical, visualization, and stakeholder communication skills to deliver impactful business insights.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The hourly salary for this position is between $[84,500 - 99,500] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
