Sr. Software Engineer – Java/AWS
About the Role
As a Senior Java Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and deploying secure, scalable backend applications that support asset and wealth management solutions. You will be a valued member of the Modern Digital Engineering team and work collaboratively with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality cloud-native solutions.

In This Role, You Will:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
Build and optimize cloud-native applications leveraging AWS services and best practices.
Develop and support relational database solutions using SQL, PL/SQL, and MySQL.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-performing applications that enhance client and business value.
Ensure application reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence through modern software engineering practices.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered
Strong experience designing and developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development.
Expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, and MySQL database design, development, and optimization.
Proven experience building secure, scalable, and high-performance backend systems.
Strong understanding of software design patterns, API development, and application integration.
Experience working within Agile development environments and collaborating with distributed teams.

These Will Help You Stand Out
Experience supporting asset and wealth management platforms or financial services applications.
Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven design patterns.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure automation.
Familiarity with application monitoring, performance tuning, and cloud security best practices.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $ 75,000 to $ 135,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
