Job Summary
Sr Test Analyst will plan and execute complex manual testing for Azure IoT based solutions with strong domain understanding to ensure high quality delivery for global clients. The role involves designing thorough test scenarios for connected systems validating functional and nonfunctional behavior collaborating with cross functional teams in a hybrid work model and ensuring stringent quality standards for safety critical and business critical applications.
Responsibilities
- Design comprehensive test strategies and detailed test plans for Azure IoT based applications and platforms to ensure resilient performance and functional accuracy across diverse deployment environments.
- Execute end to end manual test cycles including test case preparation test data creation and systematic test execution to validate core workflows interfaces integrations and user journeys.
- Analyze complex requirements and technical specifications to derive robust test conditions ensuring complete coverage of domain flows edge scenarios and regulatory or compliance expectations.
- Coordinate closely with product owners business analysts and engineering teams to clarify requirements resolve ambiguities and refine test scope for high impact releases in a hybrid work model.
- Document precise test cases test results and defect logs using structured templates and enterprise tools to maintain traceability from requirements through test execution and defect closure.
- Investigate defects with detailed root cause analysis collaborate with developers to reproduce issues and track resolution while continuously improving defect prevention practices.
- Perform regression testing and validation of fixes across multiple versions to safeguard critical Azure IoT features including data collection processing device connectivity and alerting functions.
- Validate integration of sensors devices gateways and cloud services from an end user and operational perspective ensuring reliable communication secure data handling and accurate reporting.
- Apply strong domain knowledge to simulate realistic operational scenarios assess impact on business processes and confirm safe and reliable behavior of connected solutions.
- Contribute to test process optimization by proposing improvements in test design review practices risk based testing and metrics driven reporting to enhance efficiency and quality outcomes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to produce clear test status dashboards summarize risks and recommend release readiness decisions that align with organizational objectives and client expectations.
- Assist in refining acceptance criteria and nonfunctional expectations such as usability and reliability to ensure that tested solutions deliver meaningful benefits to customers and society.
- Support knowledge sharing through documentation of best practices mentoring junior testers and promoting standardized test approaches across projects.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate strong manual testing expertise with the ability to design and execute detailed test cases and articulate clear defect descriptions for complex application ecosystems.
- Possess solid practical experience working with Azure IoT solutions including device management telemetry validation data flows and monitoring features in real world scenarios.
- Show advanced domain understanding to interpret business processes and user needs transforming them into meaningful and testable requirements that improve product value.
- Bring experience or exposure to medical devices or similar regulated domains which enables deeper appreciation of safety quality and compliance demands in connected products.
- Utilize enterprise test management and defect tracking tools efficiently while maintaining disciplined documentation and traceability practices.
- Communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical stakeholders in hybrid work settings ensuring alignment on quality goals risks and release outcomes.
Certifications Required
Recommended certifications include ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Test Analyst and Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals for cloud and IoT familiarity.
