About the role
We are seeking a Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions for healthcare and provider-focused clients. In this role, you will manage cross-functional teams delivering applications built with Golang, React, and PostgreSQL, while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to business objectives.
The ideal candidate combines strong project management expertise with a solid understanding of modern application development, secure coding practices, Agile methodologies, and stakeholder engagement. You will play a key role in driving digital transformation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, security, and business value for our healthcare customers.
In this role, you will:
· Lead the end-to-end delivery of software development projects utilizing Golang, React, and PostgreSQL technologies.
· Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, architects, and security specialists, to ensure successful project execution.
· Drive project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting, and delivery governance throughout the project lifecycle.
· Ensure secure coding practices and security requirements are embedded across all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
· Monitor project risks, dependencies, issues, and security vulnerabilities, implementing mitigation strategies to ensure predictable outcomes.
· Partner with business stakeholders and client teams to gather requirements, prioritize deliverables, and align solutions with business objectives.
· Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives to maximize team productivity and collaboration.
· Collaborate with architecture and security teams to validate technical designs, application architecture, and database solutions.
· Oversee the implementation of secure and optimized PostgreSQL database solutions, ensuring data integrity, performance, and compliance requirements are met.
· Develop and maintain project documentation, status reports, risk registers, roadmap plans, and executive communications.
· Track and report key project and delivery metrics, including velocity, quality trends, defect management, and security findings.
· Coordinate release planning, deployment readiness, and production support activities to ensure smooth application rollouts.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance delivery efficiency, application quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.

What you need to have to be considered
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
· Proven experience managing software development projects within Agile environments.
· Strong understanding of Golang application development and architecture.
· Hands-on knowledge of PostgreSQL database concepts, performance optimization, and data management best practices.
· Experience working with React-based web applications and modern front-end development teams.
· Experience managing project schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and dependencies.
· Strong stakeholder management and client communication skills.
· Experience driving cross-functional collaboration across business, technology, security, and operations teams.
· Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), DevOps practices, and release management processes.
· Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences.
· Experience working in healthcare, provider, or payer environments.
This will help you stand out
· Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile, Scrum Master, or similar project management certifications.
· Experience leading enterprise-scale digital transformation or application modernization initiatives.
· Knowledge of secure application development and cybersecurity best practices.
· Experience managing cloud-native or microservices-based applications.
· Familiarity with healthcare industry regulations, compliance requirements, and provider workflows.
· Experience working with distributed teams in hybrid or remote environments.
· Exposure to DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
· Strong understanding of application performance monitoring, observability, and operational excellence practices.
· Ability to bridge business requirements and technical solutions while influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $65,447 to $117,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
