About the role
As a Facets HIPAA Gateway (EDI) Consultant, you will make an impact by implementing and supporting Facets EDI transaction processing using the HIPAA Gateway for healthcare payer clients. You will provide consulting support across requirements gathering, configuration, implementation, and go‑live activities, ensuring accurate and compliant EDI transaction processing.
You will be a valued member of the delivery team, working closely with clients, internal Facets teams, and project stakeholders to design, configure, and support Facets EDI solutions across multiple implementations.
This is a remote position, open to qualified applicants.
In this role, you will:
- Implement and support Facets EDI transaction processing using the Facets HIPAA Gateway
- Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for EDI solutions
- Configure transaction business rules and Facets application settings to enable HIPAA‑compliant EDI processing
- Support inbound and outbound HIPAA transactions as part of Facets EDI implementations
- Participate in go‑live readiness activities and post‑implementation support for Facets EDI solutions
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Facets application, EDI, and technical stakeholders, to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Develop and maintain technical documentation related to EDI configurations and implementations
- Support batch processing and, where applicable, web services configuration and integration
- Participate in pre‑sales and solutioning activities as needed, including technical input and client discussions

What you need to have to be considered
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare technical roles
- Hands‑on experience implementing Facets EDI transaction processing using the HIPAA Gateway
- Experience working with Facets applications; exposure to Claims, Membership, and Product configuration is a plus
- Facets batch processing experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience creating technical documentation
These will help you stand out
- Programming experience in C# or VB.NET
- Experience with web services configuration and integration
- Prior experience delivering technical training or knowledge transfer sessions
- Solution design or technical architecture experience
- Experience supporting sales or pre‑sales activities
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position will be in the range of $113K-$132K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
