Life Sciences North America Lab Practice Sales Lead
Location: North America (East Coast Preferred)
Job Summary
Cognizant is seeking a Life Sciences North America Lab Practice Sales Lead to drive sales growth for its Lab Centre of Excellence (Lab CoE) within the Life Sciences industry. This role is responsible for expanding Cognizant's laboratory digital transformation portfolio, developing and managing client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and positioning lab informatics, automation, AI, data management, and compliance solutions across new and existing accounts.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to Life Sciences clients, collaborating with account teams, delivery leaders, operations, marketing, and global sales organizations to support business development and successful solution delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales growth, revenue attainment, and account expansion across assigned Life Sciences clients.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans, including cross-selling and upselling Cognizant’s laboratory technology and services portfolio.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while serving as the primary point of contact for laboratory transformation opportunities.
- Partner with client teams to identify, qualify, and progress opportunities through the sales lifecycle.
- Lead pursuit strategy development, proposal creation, contract negotiations, and commercial discussions.
- Position Cognizant’s lab informatics and digital laboratory solutions through consultative selling and industry expertise.
- Collaborate with delivery, operations, and leadership teams to ensure successful engagement execution and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate pipeline, account, and opportunity information within CRM systems.
- Support marketing initiatives, lead generation activities, and industry events.
- Facilitate transition of won opportunities to delivery teams and support ongoing governance activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience selling commercial software, technology services, consulting services, or digital transformation solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Life Sciences laboratory operations and laboratory informatics platforms, including:
- LIMS
- CDS
- ELN/LES
- SDMS
- Data Integrity and Reporting solutions
- Proven ability to engage senior business and technical stakeholders and build trusted client relationships.
- Experience working in matrixed, cross-functional, and global organizations.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed throughout North America.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting digital laboratory transformation programs within Life Sciences organizations.
- Knowledge of GxP-regulated environments, including:
- cGMP
- Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- 21 CFR Part 11
- Computer System Validation (CSV)
- GAMP methodology
- Understanding of laboratory automation, quality systems, and digital manufacturing ecosystems.
- Experience working with engineering, quality, operations, and technology teams in regulated industries.
Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $140,000- $170,000 This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
