About the role
As a Senior QA Engineer – Healthcare, you will make an impact by ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of healthcare payer applications supporting Medicare, Medicaid, and Marketplace programs. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with business analysts, product owners, developers, and integration teams to deliver high-quality healthcare solutions.
In this role, you will:
Execute end-to-end testing for healthcare payer applications supporting Member Enrollment, Claims, Clinical, and EDI processes.
Validate business workflows across Medicare, Medicaid, and Marketplace (ACA) lines of business, ensuring accurate processing and compliance.
Perform backend data validation using complex SQL queries and database testing techniques.
Validate APIs, interfaces, and integrations with downstream systems including Call Center, Clinical Applications, and Appeals & Grievances platforms.
Develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites using Tosca, Selenium, and related automation technologies.

What you need to have to be considered
6+ years of Quality Assurance and Software Testing experience with significant exposure to the U.S. Healthcare Payer domain.
Strong knowledge of Healthcare Lines of Business including Medicaid, Medicare, and Marketplace (ACA).
Hands-on experience testing Member Enrollment processes including eligibility, enrollment, and disenrollment.
Experience testing healthcare claims processing, including adjudication, pricing, and adjustments.
Exposure to clinical workflows and systems including utilization management, care management, and clinical review.
Strong understanding of healthcare EDI transactions such as 834, 835, 837, 820, 270/271, and 276/277.
Proficiency in writing and executing complex SQL queries for backend data validation across databases such as Oracle, MongoDB, or similar platforms.
Strong API testing experience using Postman, SoapUI, REST Assured, or similar tools.
Hands-on experience with test automation tools including Tosca (Tricentis) and Selenium with TypeScript or similar programming languages.
These will help you stand out
Experience working with Healthcare Payer platforms such as Facets, QNXT, HealthRules, or similar systems.
Experience testing cloud-based healthcare applications and integrations.
Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD testing practices.
Experience with healthcare regulatory and compliance requirements.
Exposure to test automation framework design and implementation.

Salary and Other Compensation
The annual salary for this position is between $53,477 to $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
