Sr. Python Engineer
About the role
As a Senior Python Engineer, you will make an impact by designing and delivering scalable integration solutions that support Community & State market onboarding initiatives. You will play a key role in building automation capabilities, enabling seamless market implementations, and improving operational efficiency. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product teams, architects, and operations partners.

In this role, you will:
- Lead the design and development of backend architectures that support new market onboarding and integration initiatives.
- Develop and maintain Python-based microservices and REST APIs for enterprise-scale applications.
- Create automation solutions that streamline onboarding, operational workflows, and business processes.
- Partner with product owners, business teams, and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to improve platform stability.

What you need to have to be considered
- Proven experience developing enterprise applications using Python.
- Strong hands-on experience with FastAPI, RESTful services, and microservices architecture.
- Experience working with NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency with Git/GitHub and modern CI/CD practices.
- Experience delivering enterprise integration and automation solutions in complex environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience supporting production systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
These will help you stand out
- Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Knowledge of healthcare, market onboarding, or large-scale operational transformation initiatives.
- Experience designing scalable cloud-native architectures.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and integration patterns.
- Experience mentoring team members and providing technical leadership.

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $ 75,000 to $ 135,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
