Job Summary
The Performance Analyst QTE116 role focuses on designing executing and optimizing performance tests for complex enterprise applications using modern tools and practices. The analyst ensures stable secure and scalable systems by analyzing performance data identifying bottlenecks and partnering with cross functional teams to deliver reliable user experiences in a hybrid work model.
Responsibilities
- Design comprehensive performance test strategies that align with business goals to ensure applications meet scalability and reliability expectations in production environments.
- Develop detailed performance test scripts using Apache Jmeter and Loadrunner to simulate real world user behavior across critical business workflows.
- Execute performance load stress and endurance tests for REST Web Services and microservices to validate response times throughput and system stability.
- Analyze performance metrics from servers databases and networks using PerfMon and related tools to identify resource bottlenecks and tuning opportunities.
- Create reusable Python utilities and automation frameworks to streamline performance test execution data preparation and result validation.
- Validate and monitor REST API performance by designing robust test scenarios that cover functional flows error conditions and security constraints.
- Investigate performance issues by correlating application logs Splunk dashboards and infrastructure metrics to determine root cause and remediation steps.
- Configure and maintain Docker environments to provision repeatable and isolated performance test setups that mirror production like conditions.
- Integrate performance tests into Jenkins CI pipelines to enable continuous performance validation with each build and deployment cycle.
- Build intuitive Grafana dashboards to visualize key performance indicators enabling stakeholders to track system health and capacity trends over time.
- Utilize Fiddler and similar tools to capture and analyze HTTP traffic ensuring accurate test scripting protocol handling and defect triage.
- Apply information security awareness and software security principles to design performance tests that respect data protection requirements and secure coding practices.
- Collaborate closely with developers architects and operations teams to review test findings recommend tuning actions and validate performance improvements.
- Document performance baselines test approaches results and lessons learned in a clear and reusable format to support future releases and audits.
- Follow secure practices aligned to OWASP Top Ten to ensure that performance testing does not introduce vulnerabilities and that nonfunctional risks are managed.
- Support defect management by providing detailed evidence metrics and reproduction steps to accelerate resolution of performance related issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance performance testing coverage automation observability and reporting maturity.
- Mentor peers on performance testing best practices tooling usage and interpretation of performance metrics to uplift overall team capabilities.
- Engage in regular review sessions with product and business stakeholders to explain performance behaviors risks and tradeoffs in understandable terms.
- Ensure that all test activities align with corporate information security standards and regulatory expectations reinforcing trust in delivered solutions.
- Drive proactive capacity planning by using historical performance trends and forecasts to help teams plan scaling strategies and infrastructure investments.
- Support integration of Selenium Python scripts where needed to align functional automation with performance scenarios for end to end validation.
- Maintain high quality documentation for test environments configurations and data sets to ensure reproducibility and compliance with internal controls.
- Participate in hybrid collaboration routines including onsite and remote ceremonies to ensure alignment across distributed delivery teams.
Qualifications
- Bring three to five years of hands on experience in performance engineering or performance testing roles with a strong focus on enterprise scale systems.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Apache Jmeter and Loadrunner with proven experience designing scripting and maintaining complex performance test suites.
- Possess strong technical expertise in REST API REST Web Services JAX RS and SQL based database systems along with solid understanding of database tuning fundamentals.
- Show solid programming capability in Python including building utilities automation scripts and integration with test frameworks or CI pipelines.
- Have practical experience with Docker administration container orchestration concepts and configuration of containerized test environments.
- Exhibit proficiency with monitoring and observability tools such as PerfMon Splunk and Grafana to track system performance and troubleshoot issues in real time.
- Apply information security awareness OWASP Top Ten secure practices and software security principles in daily work to ensure that performance solutions remain secure by design.
- Bring good to have skills in Selenium Python automation and familiarity with Jenkins CI to support integrated quality pipelines across functional and performance domains.
